Development-history coverage correction — September 13, 2026

Topic · Maintenance log

The Therapy Atlas HbA1c and weight-loss plots share compound histories from content/therapy-profiles.json. Those histories were short, manually curated selections. Tirzepatide, semaglutide and liraglutide began at their U.S. diabetes approvals because earlier events had not been entered; the renderer was sorting the available dates correctly. Even the 2021 SURPASS-2 publication supplying the tirzepatide HbA1c endpoint was absent from its history. Existing validation required dated, sourced events but did not require preapproval coverage.

Scope of the correction

Fourteen historical events were added across these three profiles. Later events were retained. Dates now identify study starts, publications, announcements or approvals in these histories, with source precision preserved. The histories explicitly span indications: first diabetes approval can legitimately be followed by obesity or other indication development.

All profile displays identify the entries as selected milestones and disclose that the first date is not necessarily the beginning of development. The three reconstructed profiles carry specific coverage notes. Tirzepatide's precise discovery date, liraglutide's first human dose, semaglutide's phase 1 program, and other compounds' missing early events remain outside this selective reconstruction. This is not an exhaustive history audit or a new all-topic research check. Plot values, trial analyses, existing research timestamps, forecasts and current approval claims are unchanged.

Validation: both the HbA1c and weight-loss validation suites passed, including the new preapproval chronology, plotted-study linkage and date-precision checks. Source comparison confirmed all prior events and 32 other compound profiles were preserved, and both plotted datasets were unchanged. This was source/rendering validation, not browser interaction QA. Whole-site export and publication are being coordinated with the concurrent lipid-visualization update.

Release tracking: included in the combined Medicine Ahead edition with the rebrand, lipid visualizations and development-history correction. The Site’s version and deployment history records publication status.
