Emergency-diagnosis counts become available
The NHS-Galleri poster reports 225 emergency cancer diagnoses in the intervention arm versus 286 in control across the studied rounds/follow-up. No uncertainty interval or significance test is supplied.
Fewer emergency diagnoses are not counts of lives saved. Modeled national reductions are projections, and these secondary findings do not reverse the primary combined stage III/IV endpoint miss or demonstrate survival benefit.
Step 8 of 10
Evidence limitations. Finding more cancers, shifting stage and reducing cancer deaths are different outcomes. A favorable secondary stage IV result does not reverse a missed primary endpoint or establish a mortality benefit.
